Wakefield Rotary Club of RI
The Wakefield Rotary Club was founded in 1957 and is a member of Rotary International, a charitable and service organization founded in 1905 in Chicago.  Our Rotary motto is Service Above Self.  We are one of 45,000 clubs with 1.2 million members worldwide, a global network of neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.
Wakefield’s membership consists of active and retired career professionals, business owners, and community leaders & organizers in the South Kingstown and Narragansett area.  We sponsor Rotoract and Interact Clubs to engage URI and High School students in community service.  Our Club supports food banks; education & resources for the socio-economically disadvantaged; scholarships for young adults; literacy programs; water purification programs in developing countries;  the eradication of polio around the world; and many, many other important causes.  We help local causes by members volunteering at various events, and hold fund raisers to provide money in support of highly effective non-profits including The Jonnycake Center, South County Habitat for Humanity, The Domestic Violence Resource Center, any many more locally and internationally.
All proceeds--100%--of Wakefield Rotary Club’s fundraising and the majority of other revenue go directly to charitable causes to help or improve life in our community, our nation, and around the world.
