Announcements
 
A motion was made, and seconded to approve two charitable requests; and after questions and discussion the club approved:
  • $1,000.00 donation to Peace Dale Dinner Table,
  • $1,900.00 to Horses Bring Hope.
  • There is currently $9,500.00 give or take in the charitable budget.
  • Dick Pike also brought up the subject of a possible donation to Coast Guard families. No action taken at this time.
2019-20 presidential theme:
Rotary Connects the World
Rotary International President-elect Mark Daniel Maloney explained his vision for building a stronger Rotary, calling on leaders to expand connections to their communities and to embrace innovative membership models. A member of the Rotary Club of Decatur, Alabama, USA, Maloney unveiled the 2019-20 presidential theme, Rotary Connects the World, to incoming district governors at Rotary’s annual training event, the International Assembly, in San Diego, California, USA.

Guest Speaker's: Stephen Pelkey was introduced by Glen. Steve paid $100.00 happy bucks: $10 for being a member of the Jaffrey, NH Rotary club; $20.00 for his ecstatic crew who get to watch this Sunday’s Patriot game, and $70.00 for his company’s seventieth anniversary. Steve is the CEO and Artistic director of Atlas Pyro Vision Entertainment Group, which puts on national and international firework festivals and shows. In the last 27 years the Jaffrey Chamber of Commerce has raise $1.4 million organizing and sponsoring the Jaffrey Fireworks Festival. Steve outlined the requirements for a successful show, after which he answered many questions.
