PROGRAM
Rick Lawrence
Rick Lawrence gave an update on the clean water projects with which he is associated through Rotary International. During the past year, they helped fund projects in three remote villages in Guatemala. Components include providing clean water sources for the villages, sanitary disposal of gray water with filters, installation of pit toilets, and safe, environmentally sound stoves in homes. Many Rotary clubs, including ours, have helped provide funding, and Rick coordinates grant applications to foundations for additional support. Rick and his wife Ellen also sold Guatemalan handicrafts at the meeting to help fund school supplies for the villages’ children.
