PROGRAM
Speaker: District Governor Bill Tennant, introduced by Chuck Sauer
Bill is a retired auto mechanic from the Braintree Rotary Club and has been a Rotarian for 30 years. He is engaged to Deb Smith-Zukowski, the District Administrator, and they like to spend time with their grandchildren. In line with the Rotary International theme for the year, “Be the inspiration,” Bill intends to re-energize the district’s clubs by empowering members to try new things. He has received so many requests for permission to innovate that he has printed on the back of his business cards the answer: “BILL SAYS IT’S OK!”
Bill told us that the district exists to help the clubs, so we should feel free to ask for his help. He also thanked the club and recognized individual members for their special contributions: Herb Mansfield, Russell Bertrand, Steve White, Beth Leconte, Scott Andrews, Chris VanHemelrijck, and Chuck Sauer (from the East Greenwich Club).
Upcoming district events include a Providence Bruins game Nov. 9 at the Dunkin Donuts Center ($5 of the $15 ticket price goes to Polio Plus); A “Nuts and Bolts” Rotary training Nov. 10 from 8:30 to 2:00 at White’s of Westport, Mass.; District annual dinner, Rosebrook Center in Wareham, Mass. (Watch for more information).
