At the last community service meeting it was decided that the food donation barrel at Belmont needed to be more visible and attract donations. Nancy asked me to send you this photo for the wheel  I made a sign and we posted to Facebook on Our Town South Kingstown and Our Town Narragansett. The reaction was great. Hopefully the donations will increase and we get some public exposure. Donna V

PROGRAM
Speaker: Roberta Richman, introduced by Donna Vignali

Roberta is an artist who came to RI in 1967 with her husband, a professor at URI. In the 1970s, she helped organize several co-ops, including the Hera Gallery which showcases women’s art. Although her Master’s is in fine arts, she became interested in art therapy as a practical application, which led to her work with prisoners.

Roberta held several positions at the RI Adult Correctional Institution, first as the coordinator of an arts program, then in educational services, then as the warden of the women’s prison, and finally in rehabilitative services, for a total of 33 years. She is now on the board of the Nonviolence Institute in Providence.
