The Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) Program is a unique opportunity for tomorrow's leaders to gain hands-on experience in developing leadership skills with a focus on community service. While the RYLA Conference is for high school sophomores and juniors, RYLA also provides opportunities for RYLA Alumni to step forward and work with Rotarians and other organizations to put their leadership skills into action through the coordination of leadership seminars and community service projects throughout the year. Our 2010 theme was M.K. Gandhi's 'Be the Change You Want to See in the World' - a theme that has become embodied in the work that our RYLArian Alumni have undertaken since then.
Our District's RYLA Conference is an intensive training program for community youth leaders. Young people chosen for their leadership potential are awarded the opportunity to attend an all-expenses-paid conference to discuss leadership skills and to learn those skills through practice. Each year, thousands of young people take part in the program worldwide.

- Rotary's purpose and service to the community
- Building self confidence and self-esteem
- Elements of community and global citizenship
In Rotary District 7950, young people going into their sophomore or junior year of high school are selected by their local Rotary Club to attend a three-day, all-expense-paid seminar organized and run by RYLA Alumni and Rotarians.
